Again a plethora of medals for the Swiss IBO team!

The Swiss biology team managed to not only tie last years success, it even exceeded all expectations: Claudia Simonett and Martin Michel won a bronze medal each, and Stefanie Tanner and Linus Meier were rewarded with silver for their efforts!
Additionally Sebastian Hälg from the Principality of Liechtenstein could follow up his good results from the Swiss national competition by winning the first bronze medal for Liechtenstein ever.
The 221 participants from 56 countries had to face demanding practicals and theoretical questions from all aspects of biology.

"We are excited that our hard work got well rewarded! We are now on par with countries such as Germany and France, and well beyond the Scandinavian countries and Italy. After ten years our system of preparation and selection reached a high level. We heavily focus on scientific thinking and experimental techniques, which proved once again to be advantageous for the exams in Japan.

Mainly, however, the strong result originated from an extraordinarily good team, which worked towards this goal with great passion and unsatiable thirst for knowledge. We are overwhelmed by our success and also a little bit proud. Of course pressure on us was slightly higher due to the results in previous years and also due to the film crew accopanying us."
(Daniel Wegmann, former president ibo|suisse)
